Nepal Students’ Union Becomes the Country’s Leading Student Organization with Victory in Over 116 Campuses
Kathmandu, April 7 — The Nepal Students’ Union (NSU) has emerged as the largest and leading student organization in the country after securing victories in more than 116 constituent and affiliated campuses across Nepal.
The triumph follows the recent Free Student Union (FSU) elections held under Tribhuvan University, where NSU candidates gained significant support from the student community. With wins in a majority of key campuses, NSU has officially positioned itself as the first and most influential student union in Nepal.
NSU leadership hailed the results as a landmark achievement, crediting the victory to the unwavering trust of students in democratic values and the organization’s continued advocacy for student rights and educational reforms.
“This victory reflects the faith students have placed in our commitment to democracy, progress, and educational transformation,” said the NSU President in a statement. He also expressed gratitude to all supporters, promising proactive engagement in addressing student issues, improving campus infrastructure, and safeguarding academic freedoms in the days ahead.
Observers view this result as a significant political and symbolic milestone in student politics, reinforcing NSU's long-standing legacy and influence in Nepal’s academic and political landscape.
